- From a WordPress Administration page, find the “Posts” section on the left, expand it if needed, and click the “Add New” link.
- In the first field, enter the title of the testimonial. Something like “Claire and French”.
- In the next (largest) field, enter the testimonial.
- If you have a photo:
- Above the field where you entered the text of your testimonial, notice in the upper right corner two labels: “Visual” and “HTML”. Click the “HTML” label.
- Go to the beginning of your testimonial text and enter a blank line and then move your cursor to that blank line.
- Next to the “Upload/Insert” label, the first icon is the “Add an image” tool. Click it.
- In the “Add an image” dialog box that pops up, make sure you are on the “From Computer” tab.
- Click the “Select Files” button.
- Find the image on your computer and select it.
- Wait as the file uploads. When it completes, you will have some fields to edit.
- Make sure the “Title” field contains something that reads well. This is what the user sees if the images fails to load for some reason.
- Make sure the “Link URL” filed is empty.
- Set the alignment to “Left”.
- If the image is not very large, select “Full Size” for the size. Otherwise, select a smaller size.
- Click the “Insert Into Post” button.
- In the “Categories” section on the right, make sure only “Testimonial” is selected.
- Click the “Publish” button to make the testimonial appear on the web site.
If you have part of a testimonial completed but don’t want to publish it yet, click the “Save Draft” button. You can come back later and edit the post more. If you have published a testimonial and want it removed from the site, you can either delete the post or clear the “Testimonial” category on the post and select “Uncategorized”.
